How is a Cardisiography performed?

The appointment is booked directly with the respective doctor’s office or pharmacy. Your personal data is also processed and stored there. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. During the four-minute recording, five electrodes are attached to your body, similar to an ECG. No needles or injections are used, making the Cardisiography completely risk-free and suitable for all adults, regardless of age or health condition. The recorded parameters are transmitted to the Cardisio server and processed by an AI-based algorithm into a report within five minutes. A medically trained professional will then discuss the results with the patient.

Why should I get a Cardisiography?

Until now, simple and efficient screening for heart disease has been difficult or only possible with great effort. Cardisiography is the first preventive examination that uses artificial intelligence to reliably detect heart conditions. It enables an effective heart check-up – simple, fast, and precise.

An ECG or stress ECG provides only limited information when it comes to detecting circulatory disorders in the heart muscle. Cardisiography delivers results within minutes and with very high accuracy, indicating whether your heart is healthy.

It is just as easy to perform as a standard ECG but measures the heart muscle in three-dimensional space. The collected data is analyzed using a specialized computer algorithm based on artificial intelligence, quickly providing clarity on whether the heart shows signs of disease or if there is a potential risk of a heart attack.

What data is collected?

Our method places great importance on data protection. Only the information necessary for the examination is collected, such as age and weight. Other personal data, like your name or address, is not entered and remains with your doctor. In addition, our servers are located in Germany and are therefore subject to German data protection laws.

Why are heart problems usually diagnosed so late?

It is often difficult for people to detect heart disease early because the symptoms are usually unclear and tend to appear and disappear intermittently. Cardisiography can help. It is particularly suitable for patients who find themselves asking the following questions:

  • People who have noticed symptoms but cannot identify their cause: Should I see a doctor about this? Is it serious or not?
  • Athletes: Could something happen to me during intense physical activity, such as a marathon?
  • Some of my family members have had a heart attack. How can I find out if I am at risk too?

What happens in case of a red result?

It is important to know that even a red result does not automatically mean an acute emergency, because it can now be actively prevented. If the Cardisiography identifies a patient with heart problems, the person is referred for further examinations, such as a cardiac MRI. This usually reveals the causes of the condition quickly. Through timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment – for example, with medication or minor surgical procedures – serious consequences such as a heart attack can be prevented. That is why heart prevention is so important.

Can COVID-19 lead to heart disease?

Even comparatively mild cases of COVID-19 can leave damage to the hearts of those affected. More than 75% of patients in a study conducted in Frankfurt showed abnormalities in this area upon closer examination. What researchers found particularly concerning was that these heart conditions were not linked to other factors such as pre-existing illnesses or a particularly severe course of COVID-19. Most patients reported only mild to moderate symptoms from the disease. The researchers consider it necessary to continue studying the long-term effects of COVID-19.[1]</sup

Chinese researchers also believe it is advisable to examine the hearts of recovered patients for possible secondary diseases – especially since there are still no long-term studies in this area.[2]

Therefore, it seems advisable in any case to have even mild symptoms clarified during a cardiological examination. Heart problems are often barely noticeable, and affected individuals usually go to the doctor far too late.

Why is a heart-healthy diet so important?

Your diet can do a lot to help keep your heart healthy. Researchers have found that traditional eating habits in Mediterranean countries are particularly beneficial for heart health. You can find more detailed information about this in the following sections. At the same time, the risk of a heart attack increases the more unhealthily we eat. And even if not everyone succeeds in lowering high cholesterol or blood pressure through diet alone, many people manage to reduce their need for medication.

A heart-healthy diet doesn’t have to be complicated if you follow a few basic principles. The most important thing is to eat a balanced diet.

Is Cardisiography just a better ECG?

Cardisiography was developed primarily to help detect circulatory disorders (for example, those caused by coronary artery disease, CAD), which are responsible for many heart attacks. According to our studies, Cardisiography achieves particularly high sensitivity compared to other non-invasive diagnostic methods. The technology used is far more advanced than that of a standard ECG.

Cardisiography is an evolution of vectorcardiography combined with a neural network (AI). Each patient should decide which approach is best for their needs – ideally in consultation with a trusted physician.

Can Cardisiography replace a CT or catheter examination?

Cardisiography is primarily used for the early detection of heart problems. According to our studies (https://cardis.io/en/the-science/studies/), Cardisiography demonstrates particularly high sensitivity compared to other non-invasive diagnostic methods. The technology used is far more advanced than that of a standard ECG.

Cardisiography is an advancement based on vectorcardiography combined with a neural network (AI). Cardiac CT scans or catheter examinations are typically used later in the diagnostic process. Which method is best suited for an individual patient can only be determined by a physician in consultation with the patient.

Can Cardisiography also detect a heart muscle inflammation?

A heart muscle inflammation can cause various pathological problems in the heart, such as swelling or reduced blood flow. We have numerous examples where myocarditis was noticeable in Cardisiography. However, this finding has not yet been validated in a clinical study.

The next step would be to use an imaging method (e.g., MRI) to determine whether it is indeed myocarditis or possibly something else. If the Cardisiography result is normal, it can be assumed with high reliability that no issue is present. Whether a Cardisiography is useful for you should be discussed with your physician.

Can the examination also detect coronary artery narrowing?

A narrowing of the coronary arteries can indeed affect the electrical signal conduction in the heart. We have numerous examples where narrowed coronary arteries were noticeable in Cardisiography. Whether a Cardisiography is suitable for you should be discussed with your physician.

How often should a Cardisiography be performed?

A general recommendation for this check-up is to carry it out every three years, similar to other preventive examinations. It is also advisable in case of acute symptoms such as shortness of breath or chest pain, especially following an illness or infection. Whether and when a Cardisiography is appropriate for you personally should be discussed with your physician.
